Verdi’s 200th
Birthday Party
Come celebrate Verdi’s 200th
birthday with Sarasota Opera and learn about volunteer opportunities at the
Opera House! The celebration will
include performances by Sarasota Opera artists, birthday cake, and a community
sing of Va pensiero from Verdi’s Nabucco.

New ushers for the Fall
Season meet to train for the upcoming season.
There will be a large group meeting to discuss the Usher Handbook,
followed by practical training involving seating, life-safety scenarios, and
customer service scenarios.

Volunteer Social &
Orientation
Come meet and mingle with
your volunteer colleagues! This event is
for both existing volunteers and new volunteers. New volunteers will learn about the program
and its policies and will have the opportunity to talk with staff and existing
volunteers. Two tours of the Opera House
will also be offered. Light
hors-d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

Usher Training

Volunteer Appreciation Event
We honor all of our
volunteers with this event. Awards for
Outstanding Volunteers and the Volunteer of the Year will be given out. Heavy hors d'oeuvres with wine/champagne/beer/water/soft
drinks.
Each season, Volunteers are
given the opportunity to attend selected final dress rehearsals. These tickets—1 for the volunteer and 1 for a
guest—are available in the lobby of the Opera House an hour before the
rehearsal begins and are given out on a first-come-first-served basis; there
are around 190 balcony seats available for Volunteers.

If you require accessible
seating, please contact Scott Guinn prior to the rehearsal to arrange it. These dress rehearsals are also attended by
schools, donors, and special guests.
Each group has its own section of the theater and is asked to stay in
that assigned section. Like all
performances, accessible seating is limited and should be arranged prior to the
rehearsal.
